Can somebody please give me a part number (any brand) for front and rear shock absorbers for a 1963 Series 2a SWB.

Lang,

Fronts are R508042

Rear R508043.

These supersede to a number of later part numbers, but you are after the ‘1 Ton’ shocks here, for vehicles with extended shackles.

Available from most of the usual suspects, try to avoid anything in a blue box!!

Thanks for that. I quickly found out regular LR shock absorbers are too short. I finished just hanging it up on the hoist and measuring. WW Shock Absorbers in Brisbane are making me up a custom set for about the same price as a set of Landcruiser plain non-fancy units.

Adam had gone to the trouble of buying what look like expensive units but when I opened the box (it said one ton) they had a pin on one end. I wonder if he gave me a couple of his Perentie shocks?

I really appreciate the Workshop manual PDF
