I am about to register my 1 tonne trailer. Chassis number 108 on top of left hand drawbar rail, ARN 34-001 very neatly stamped into the rear chassis rail. This one was purchased from the army by the dealers in Caboolture, I purchased it from them next day, so I am taking the ARN as genuine placed there by the army. It also has white paint under the green so UN at some time. I own a second trailer with chassis number 43 this trailer has a not so damaged nomenclature sticker that has the manufacturer as Ordnance Factory Maribyrnong, no date of delivery. Both trailers have original brakes and the upgrade to the tow hitch/master cylinder arrangement and shock absorbers. Both trailers are the chassis only with angled mud guards type. Question is were these Ordnance Factory trailers the prototypes, that the BAE and the Crump & Cornish were modeled on. Regardless of being prototypes or not would anyone hazard a guess at the manufacture date. I see the later ones are 1983 ish. I tried to register 34-001 years ago but TMR wouldn't accept it because it didn't have a floor. I have a steel sheet I cut out of an old civilian trailer bolted into it this time. Cheers Ken
