I remember them having a steel loop on one end, but my memory is fallible.

Beaver make lifting and recovery chains, you should be able to buy a new one,

Thanks Charlie,

Yes, I remember them having a steel loop at one end too.  I think they were only about 6’ long too.

I’ll check out Beaver.  Thanks for the heads up!

Regards

Chris

That looks like a standard 4wd drag chain which are available from any 4wd shop.  They come with the option of being able to change one end from hook to ring as needed.  They normally come in a white bucket.

An example of the many available https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/hercules-drag-chain.html

I've got one. It's in my Perentie.
Yep, it has a loop one end and a hook the other.

I noticed there were a few in the last auction.

The pic you borrowed is of 2x early LR110 winch chains linked by me as a recovery chain.
Normally they were attached to the winch SWR via hammerlok.
The 110 CES drag/recovery chain had the same size links but had a loop on one end, and a swivel snap lock the other end.

Thanks Sixty,

Yes, this is the chain I am after.  Mick sent me the photo below.  It’s the type I am chasing.

If anyone has a spare chain they are willing to sell, please contact me.  I’ll be at Corowa too!

Regards

Chris
