Can someone please give some info on this army trailer.

Putting this post up for a friend. Would like to know what it is and what it is worth.

Has Mk1 written on the tag.

I think these went behind the old Studebaker 6x6 trucks. I used to own a similar trailer made by Corio Trailers (that was on the plate). It was HUGE and bloody heavy, and was way too big to go behind m old Series 3 Landy.

They were quite often issued to units to go behind a Mk.3. The unit for which I drove had two which only ever turned a wheel when they went to workshops for servicing with a Mk.3. Unlike the no.5s the wheels did not match the towing vehicle which could have caused complications. Apparently each unit was "entitled" to a trailer for everything that would tow one even if they were not required. Most of our no.5s enjoyed a similar sedentary lifestyle with only occasional forays into the outside world. I am talking about 1970/71.
