110 AFTER MARKET SHOCK ABSORBERS
« on: May 15, 2021, 07:57:26 AM »
Hello Everyone,

I'm looking at replacing the shock absorbers on the 110 ; does anyone have any advice on brand / model to buy?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Mick

Hi Mick
I would recommend Kenworth to match your instruments
108-545 1963 Series 2A FFW
51-441 1991 Perentie GS (RamRod)
Series 2 Safari (Matchbox)
173-621 1/2 Ton Trailer, Aust No5

In 2016 my friend Wayne was recommended to get Tough Dogs shockies. KLR used them. Wayne reported they were good so I got a set. The adjustable setting is very effective, certainly good around town but then set sofyer for corrugations and it rides beautifully. The setting dials are a pain to reach though as you usually get down in the dirt. Nowadays there are better designs with the adjustment setup in easy reach.

Expensive shocks but over the long term...

Here are previousccdiscussion threads from a few years ago. It will be interesting to see what you fit.

I would add that while the supplier is in a good mood because you are spending... ask for a second set of rubber bushes, some postage time saved down the track if they need doing and they are no weight in the spares box.

Also consider new modern front turrets that let you inspect or hose off those rubber bushes easily.
