RIP PRINCE PHILLIP
« on: April 12, 2021, 06:52:47 PM »
I think we missed out on a fantastic Colonel-in-Chief. Prince Phillip would have been a great fit for REMLR.

He was a man after our own hearts.  Here is a cartoon out of todays paper.

Awesome.

RIP Prince Phillip

Very fitting that his final trip is in a Land Rover.

RIP Sir.

The funeral is on youtube live, possibly tv as well.

The Royals have seen so many PMs and Presidents come and go. And GGs. Dozens.
The Duke and The Queen have been such a constant in our lives. Maybe not so for the younger ones.
As a schoolkid we attended the local sportsground when there was a Royal Tour. I recall it was a RR Phantom or some such going around us. Later we went on a couple of Duke of Edinburgh weekend bushwalks. The first was very memorable in the back of the Watagans walking out to Burragurra rock meeting up with transport (3 speed shortwheelbase early Patrol) at Mogo Hill (from memory - I will check the google map). My first and only experience of a sort of bottomless sand in a creek crossing. Scary.

Prince Phillip's funeral was covered live on this side of the pond.

RIP HRH Prince Philip
