Does anyone know if this unit was used in Land Rover comms set-up? Possibly 1960s armoured vehicle????

g'day,  not enough info on the listing to work out if it's actually an invertor or not.
12 volts inverted from what ??   (24volt vehicle system perhaps?)
Maybe more info from the seller re markings or numbers etc.

Ooooorr,  is it actually a 12 volt Power supply Unit for giving the correct voltage supply to
(for example) a No. 19 Wireless set  (WS19)
The plugs shown are certainly from that era of radios.
WW2 up to Korea (early fifties)  Used in Armoured vehicles and Wheeled vehicles.
British, Canadian AND Australian.

This item would most likely have been used in wheeled vehicles having a 12volt supply as
the WS19 (and others) could also be supplied as 24volt for Armoured and larger vehicles.

The attached file shows a very similiar arrangement with a British WS19.

Sorry for coming to this thread after six months.  The ad has gone from Gumtree but I may be able to add some information.

The Israelis (and perhaps the septics) used a 12V to 24V inverter to power up the AN Series of radios like the AN/GRC 160 (PRC 77) in their 12V Jeeps.

You can see one fitted  below the 524 set as a charging backup in my FFR.

AFAIK they were not used by the Aussies.
