Canberra Coffee & Chat with Land Rovers: 06 March 2021
« on: March 06, 2021, 11:01:51 PM »
 8) This afternoon was very enjoyable meeting other local LR owners and catching after after a whole year "social distancing". It was a year ago a planned meeting was cancelled because china virus.

Today we met at 2pm on a perfect sunny day. It was lakeside on the Black Mountain Peninsula -35.29186485672097, 149.1016199754267
We met at a spot that has a view over the LBG water towards The National Library and the High Court. Not a breeze at all this afternoon.

People have been busy during the last year. News from those attending:
Adam arrived in his Perentie GS wearing new rego plates - he has completed the project - it has been a big job and it is now no the road looking very good. There are other Perenties in his family and this one just finished was originally purchased at Minto to scavenge for spare parts.
Wayne arrived in his GS. It has a new KLR sourced ceramic coated exhaust and exhaust manifold which looks amazing. The larger exhaust pipe goes down the center of the chassis.
Greg was in his FFR ww and he now has the KLR turbo, Eaton rear diff and Maxidrive axles etc.
I had removed my LRCV roof top camper and canopy etc and am getting ready to fit a DIY poptop camper using composite panel. It was fun to drive in that perfect 27degree weather. Positive point: much lower noise when driving. Very noticeable. Negative point: you get sunburnt waiting at red lights and the smell of roadkill has no barrier.

some more pics.

We did enjoy some coffee and spent 3 hrs chatting.
Also we emptied out my small spares box and discussed spares carried for trips. We also discussed Wayne's idea to visit Arnhemland for fishing.
