Door top stud corrosion

I replaced the door top connecting studs 12months ago and removed today to see how they were doing (and to deal with a window screen rattle).  Water came out when I loosened the bolts.  As you can see the rust has returned and I fear they will go they way of the rusted studs I replaced sooner rather than later.  Any solutions to water getting into these?

I note the army had filled mine with silastic, but it still rusted.....

Try stainless steel, BUT make sure that the stainless has a barrier between it and any dissimilar metal. Silicone, or plastic, rubber, or fibre washers, will do the job.

If you don't isolate dissimilar metals, the corrosion will be much worse than the corrosion that is in the photograph,

Chazza's spot on - I used heat shrink around my SS bolts when I first tried to solve the problem - so far so good!  STDDIVER

Good timing for me -hints needed as I had a lot of trouble with one rusty bolt out of 4. I think the captive nut inside the window frame is cactus. That will be the big issue i think.

My doortops had clear silicon in place with the rubber gasket under the window frames. I removed them to refresh the felts - after 5yrs using a rubber wedge (door stopper) between glass panes to stop rattles.
