Yes, a bit of a shame Nathon, but at the end of the day, it looks like a fairly solid vehicle.
I don't know why Land Rovers seem to attract these fantasy type people, we have all heard plenty of dodgy stories over the years about so called military vehicles.
The IR camera thing is a bit weird they only detect heat I thought (?), if anything is under the paint, you should be able to see it looking side on or by giving it a gentle sand, but I if it was me I probably wouldn't bother.
Your 2A has some interesting previous owner modifications, I wonder why the transmission tunnel has been widened so much?
Someone has put an early 2A brush bar on it as well, it should have the later type for the headlights in the wings.
