G'day Mick, those gauges look great.  Could you give some details about what you did?
Cheers, Rob

Hey Mick.
How do those spotlights perform, and are you happy with the quality? It's probably a bit early to tell, I spose.
I was looking at what are probably the same or similar for when I give my Discovery a full rebuild/makeover to replace the old steel cased halogens, that have delaminated internally.

Greg.

Hi Rob,

The gauges I picked up on eBay from Twin City Truck parts they are VDO / Kenworth gauges and swap straight over.  The Speedo was a second hand refurbed one , again on eBay for around half the new one price.  The speedo is electronic and another part is required for tranmission end, a simple wiring lum and your away. It`s fairly accurate (about 3km) slow. I can provide more details if required.

I went with the Brass ringed gauges as the speedo was brass and the only one I could find at the time.

I must say though now I can actually read the dash at night.  The orginial speedo , you could hardley see with such poor illumination.

The head lights are LED and they are awesome, I have been country driving with these and they work well. They are off eBay and I think they were around the $200- 250 price range.  The seller has a perentie in the photo.  I think they are good stuff.

The driving lights (another eBay purchase) I havent had an opportunity to test out but I can say they even light up the neighbours fence across the road in daylight.  I`ll hopefully get a chance this year to test in the bush.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Mick

Thanks Mick, great information I will check those out.  Do they have led back lights or the standard little bulbs?

Hi Rob,

There standard globes but very bright.  I would imagine an LED option would not be hard to find.

As mentioned earlier, a very simple swap over job. If you want more info on the speedo, please let me know.

Cheers,

Mick

Oh, and the other thing is a tachometer. It's on the wish list because of the space to the left of the speedo on the 6x6 cluster.

Hi Rob, there is a tachometer on eBay now with a starting big of $200

The other parts you need to set up the speedo is:

VDO PART NO : YBE100530G Transonder and

Land Rover Part : cable plug to wire up ( STC 4637)! This part I picked up from the UK . I think the speedo set up was around $300

Tona , the costs were :

Speedo and parts mentioned above $500 ( refurbed speedo) ;

Fuel Gauge $75 approx ;

Volt gauge $70 approx ;

Temp gauge $100 approximately ; and

New 2 watt globes and holders $10:00.

If there's any more info you'd like fire away.

Cheers ,

Mick
