Shock Absorbers
« on: August 04, 2020, 10:01:50 PM »
G'day Fellas,  I have one shot rear shock absorber on the 6x6 which I noticed when changing a wheel this afternoon (did a little bush mechanic job on it for the time being) So  I reckon its time to change all four. So I'm wondering what's going to be the best replacement. Would like to hear what you think. I have a vague memory of a post referring to maybe Koni shocks? Anyway I would certainly appreciate any advice and recommendations.
Cheers, Rob

Rob, you won't get a better shock than the Kono Raid 90 series for these vehicles. They are expensive but the best in my opinion. I have been running them for 6 yrs now with no failures and great handling on dirt/corrugated roads. In contrast a friend of mine has gone through a set each of OME and Bilstein and on the 2nd set of Bilstein when he decided he had had enough when 2 started leaking.

Thanks Bearman, I thought you would know the best option., Is there any specific type in that raid 90 series or is there only the one shock absorber in that series?   Also do you have a recommend supplyer? Much appreciated for your assistance.
Cheers, Rob

Rob the numbers you want are Koni Raid 90-5374 for the front and 90-5375 for the rear. You will be surprised at how big and heavy they are. On my 6x6 I have them adjusted at about 50%. Shop around and check prices as they vary quite a bit. I bought mine from Suspension Stuff but that was 6 yrs ago

Koni Raid 90's Are the the best and are again expensive,I have been using them now for about 5 years, excellent, although I had to increase the rebound dampening on the front to limit topping out over sand dunes.
