AAF G-2 or later ST-2 Transport Work Ticket
« on: June 28, 2020, 07:40:44 PM »
Anyone who has driven an Army vehicle on official duties would be very familiar with the above.

I used to have pads of blank ST-2 Transport Work Tickets but threw them out during one of the many house moves I've endured over the years.

I'm hoping to find blank copies of each to share to REMLR. I still can't fibd the photocopy I was sure I still had.

The green plastic cover is like hen's teeth, once again I threw out the nos ones I used to have.

Cheers

Phill

If the glue works both sides of AAF-G2 should be attached.

Well done Geoff !

I see it's already being downloaded so there was clearly some demand. I'll look at getting myself some printed out for future display.

Much appreciated

I can't help with the other publications as to the best of my knowledge they either did not exist or were not generally issued in my time at Pucka. We did not even get the beaut fabric covered licence as demand had outstripped supply. We received a heavy paper one and we were to get them later, I am still waiting.
Believe it or not I was on the drivers course 50 years ago right now. I was probably just back from a weekend in Melbourne. I avoided drinking much as our platoon commander, great bloke that he was, had one fault, he loved to take us for a Monday morning run. This is not recommended if you have a hangover  :o

In 1970 a spread sheet would have been something that you lay on. We used to try to refuel on the last day of the month although it did not always work out that way. The dip sticks in the 2A fuel tanks (and the inters)simplified things a bit. I have often wondered when looking at my S3 how the drivers handled that one without a dip stick. I don't know about other corps but RAASC drivers were usually quite creative in such circumstances.
It was normal back then to round up what the bowser said to the next gallon to allow for "spillage" at the supply depot. Imagine my surprise one day when working for the local domestic transport platoon to be told to round down and not to the next gallon either! It would appear that they had an audit coming up and had been a bit too creative in this area to the tune of several hundred gallons that they should not have had. More suspect than a shortage. Lots of fun back then.

I was lumped with responsability for the daily dipping of the underground fuel tanks at a Sydney based Transport Unit ( mercifully only for a few months)

I would end up on the S/Sgt's **** list every other day for teadings that fluctuated to the forecast fuel usage. Even threatened with a charge over it once or twice.

Imagine how I felt when it was discovered - after I was posted back to Puckapunyal - that the inground tanks were holed and ground water had been soaking in, readings reflected higher on wet days of course !

Cheers

the airforce had a similar form that use to record drivers name and milage for the month as each driver had to complete an A service of the vehicle
