Anti-burst door latches won't lock
«

My 1990 Perentie 110 is fitted with anti-burst door latches which are worn and have the usual poor fit issues. Locks have been fitted and it has all been functioning well until recently.
The d/s door lock now will not lock. The lock appears to function normally with either the key or the inside latch however if I lift the leaves to open the door whilst it is in the locked position the door will open.
The lock then jams and the latch won't move. It takes a fair bit of finger pressure to push the lock lever into the unlocked position and the jam releases and it all seems to work properly again except that the lock doesn't ”lock”.
I have given it a good clean and lube. I have stopped short of pulling it apart because I really don't know what I'm looking at in a lock.
I have found a lot of information on a broken spring on the locking lever but it feels and looks like it's intact.
Has anyone had this problem before or can suggest a solution please?
Regards

Thanks Ross, I’ll check that adjustment tomorrow. However unlike his, my lock is clicking as if it is locking, but lifting the latch opens the door.
It feels more like something is bent, worn or out of alignment.

Adjustment does not seem to be the problem.
The problem is that when the door is locked, I am still able to lift the handle and open the door.
So still stumped.

Hello,
Sounds like the small brass pin inside the lock mechanism may be loose or broken ?
I've had issues with the fragile door locks myself. Luckily they are dirt cheap to replace.
Might have to put my second/third set in soon
Cheers

Thanks for the hint Phill, do you have any further info?
So far, a replacement is looking around $120 + Post. A couple of places in the UK that I've looked at will be more expensive.

Update:
I surrendered on trying to fix the lock, I could not find the same problem anywhere and all the videos indicated that it would be unlikely to get an effective and long-lasting repair.
So
I got an aftermarket replacement from Mario & Heather at an excellent price with overnight delivery to Qld.
Took almost an hour to get it fitted and adjusted correctly, or in other words, get a new part to work with old wear; plus I don't have any experience in adjusting doors.
Seems to close tighter now although it needs a solid action to close to the second latch.
I'll make sure everything is working for a while then I might do a biopsy on the old latch to work out the problem.
Thanks for the assistance!
Regards
