Dear all.
I probably could name this subject 'not fitting'.... hence the questions..
I've removed the gearbox from the Perentie and replaced the clutch/oil pump gears and pump cover seal. When attempting to refit the gearbox I get to within 10mm or so of the bell housing seating on the engine and that's it. I've rotated the flywheel and noted the drive flange rotate - so that and the fact it's 10mm away surely means the input shaft is in the cutch plate. I've taken the box out a second time to check clutch plate alignment etc, but nothings obvious.
When replacing the input shaft spigot I fitted it just under flush with the spigot face - as was the one I removed.
Bearing in mind my workshop is a stone cobbled driveway, it's not only hot and annoying, but I'm expecting some resistance with the trolley jack and engine hoist when sliding them around, but even trying a scissor jack applying pressure to the rear of the box just pushes the engine forward - only tried this to test a theory.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Matt
