Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement Cap
« on: January 14, 2020, 09:29:46 PM »

Does anyone know where to obtain a replacement clutch master cylinder cap.

RPS 02207 nominates Part No HYL8813 which I understand was manufactured by PBR (now Bosch) PBR Part No P4982-1.

Bosch advise that mater cylinder and cap are no longer available.

Repco still supply the clutch master cylinder but not the replacement cap.

There appears to be a number of replacement caps available on Ebay, but I am unsure if they will fit the PBR clutch master cylinder.

Many thanks,

Frank G

This post is for a 1991 Surveillance (RFSV) and I have uploaded the information on the clutch master cylinder from Bosch.

Many thanks,

That looks very similar to what I replaced in my truck.
In fact, the clutch master unit is P4977 and the cap is shown as P4982.

I'll have to have a look when I get home, but I seem to remember replacing the one in my MK3 as it was cheaper than buying a rebuild kit.
The local Repco looked up the old PBR part number and found they were now made by Protex.

If I still have the old one, you are welcome to the lid, if its not cracked or perished.

Greg.

Most good trailer parts shops will sell the caps.  Take the old in an old one to match.

Greg: Thank you for the very kind offer.

FC101: Thank you, that is very sound advice.

I found a replacement master cylinder reservoir cap at Power Brakes SA Pty Ltd: (08) 8261 0888.

Rob at Power Brakes was very helpful.
