Recently acquired 110 TD5 203-234
« on: August 22, 2013, 12:19:24 PM »
Hi All,

Just checking in to provide a bit of info and a contact point for the 110 TD5 203-234.
Obviously the information on the TD5 ARN page tells you almost everything I can.
It was purchased by a Western Australian in 2011 from auction and made road legal.
I have purchased from previous owner August 2013 with 53,500km on the clock.
It will remain in W.A. for the near future.

See photo http://imgur.com/ubIKiHT (apologies for the poor shot will post more soon)

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

G'day Dean

Your TD5 203-234 was once the personal transport of forum member B 52 whilst it was in ADF service. Brian will have many photos of it :)

I have posted a few photos of 234 taken October 2011 when Brian dropped in to my house for a visit.

Photos of 203-234 at Manheims Perth awaiting the auction. 234 was the only TD5 at the auction that did not have a spare wheel mounted on the rear door. Interestingly, the 'in service' rear door had been replaced by a newer door prior to auction (as can be seen from the photos in my previous post and this one).

Due to the fence, it was difficult to photograph the lineup of Land Rovers from the front. 234 is third from the right in photo #1 and third from the left in photo #2 and #3.

Thanks Tommy that made my day!
Interesting to see what was on the car then and now I did notice the newer door but did not see reason why, maybe there is a story behind it?
It is also great to hear a bit of the history from when it was in service.
I have some photos from going offroad (very gently I might add as it was the first time) last weekend that I will post once i have censored them.

Juddy
I'm not sure in terms of if they have all been auctioned but there is another one for sale privately atm in QLD.

Does anyone know where i might be able to get a spare wheel cover as pictured in tommy's reply and also a spare hatch cover to match the left hand side one?
(The storage well must be covered to be road legal so is blanked off at the moment but I am currently planning on making a hatch at work if I can't source one)

Thanks again,

dean

Are the storage locker doors unique to Perenties?

But the TD5s never had any door on the right side storage, which is for 2 jerry cans, and must be open to the outside for ADR compliance of fuel storage.

Hi B 52,

Thanks for the response, apologies for not being on in a while.
Definitely like to see some of the photos from its service life.

Here are some photos of its fun and travels and modifications (don't worry nothing too horrible) since retirement.

G’day,
Just started a thread looking for part for gearbox extension housing damper, do you maybe have the part fitted to yours and can help with a photo?
Cheers Dave
