perentie fuel tank breather

Does anyone know why the breather's of the main and auxiliary fuel tanks on my RFSV (maybe the same as 6x6) have the breather tubes linked together?
This seems to cause problems when both tanks are almost full, infact, the breather hose is below the top of the tank, so I think when you have 2 full tanks the breather line is full of fuel and you will take fuel from the unselected fuel tank until the level is below the breather.

I'm thinking of adding a breather to each tank that comes out of the top of the tank and blocking off this 'joint' breather system. Has anyone done similar?

Hi All,
Yes I took the filler out and put a breather higher up in the filler . Also that's where I pump fuel in from the big tank under the tray.  I wish I had taken photos when I did it.??  I didn't like the fact when filling, it put fuel on the ground , The breather is now above the cap on the big tank ,all good so far..
