6x6 Maintenance HardTop
« on: July 13, 2018, 07:35:45 AM »
Hi All,

Does anybody know the internal measurement of the 6x6 maintenance hardtop?

Eg - Can you stand up inside it?

Looking at the pictures I can see that the centre section of the floor is low - or rather the side sections of the floor are higher. I'm wondering if a normal (6ft) person could stand upright in the centre section of the floor?

Cheers,
GG.

PS - Yes I am looking at the 6x6 Maintenance Hardtops currently on auction at Minto...  ;)

I have a 6x6 Electronic Maintenance Hardtop acquaintenance (John S. out near Junee) who just took a measurement inside the rear body about half a meter from the rear door.

1770mm which is 5ft 9.74in

These 6x6 rear modules would be very similar headroom if not identical.

I'm 6'2 and a bit and I have to bend my neck a bit. The missus can stand no dramas

the height in the centre is closer to 1790mm. front to back is 3100mm and the side bits are about 315 high x 660 wide. the pics show a queen sized mattress that's on a 3/4" ply base that's hinged to fold up out of the way if you're thinking of going that way. there are Unistrut tracks down each side which makes mounting and removing  beds/shelves/drawers etc easy. I've left the work benches and drawers in for now but if you modify the workbench at the end you could get a fair bit more floor area.

if you need any more measurements or pics let me know

cheers, Geoff

You've got to be kidding me! See the current bids. Really! That high this early in the auction!

Well, GG, as good as it would be to have a GMV, I would recommend you sit down and have a think about what you want your 6x6 for. Do you want to keep it as a GMV and kit it up with tools? Go for it.
Do you want to convert it to a camper? The GMV is not for you. You already have the 101 for that. Why do you need another camper? Oh, and let me do you a favour, I'll take that 101 off your hands for a ridiculously low price if you do want to convert the GMV to a camper.

I reckon the best one for you is a cargo. You could retire The Grey Ghost from it's wood carting duties. You could also get some custom ramps made and use it to transport Rodger to displays and events. I reckon you'd even be able to load the 101 or the FFR on to it. And, if you do want a camper, you can put a slide on onto it.

Looking forward to your purchase..

..... but.... could be the last chance ever - only three 6x6's this auction. They must run out one day. I had heard that the GMV's typically had a very hard life - is this true? My cargo and Mortar both have 'had a life' although the Cargo is pretty good. If the GMV's had a harder life, I would be worried.

There are about 200 Mogs yet to be auctioned.
I reckon there's a fair few more Cargos to go through. If not, keep your eye on the private market.

 :)

Saw a BODY weight proof just put up on Instagram.
A weigh-in before body removal and then after.
1240kg
Perhaps the Ambulance body is a similar weight.
