Good day
I have one of those bikes. A fellow in town bought 3 or 4 of them, mine was the only one he didn't civilianise, it still has the saddle bags etc. He got sick of the repainting, one was blue that I remember, and I think he had trouble selling them.
I had to pay $810.00 for mine as he had paid $800.00 at auction for each bike and he didn't want to sell it for less than he paid for it, and he was desperate to sell.
That was 20 years ago, I am pretty sure he doesn't live in town any more, I drive past his house every day and I haven't seen about for a long time, now that I think about it.
I did buy some of the lights, I think. I am assuming I still have them somewhere.
I have searched for years for information on the DR250S and apart from an article in an army magazine yours is the first time I have seen them discussed.
My nephew used to ride it in our annual Harvest/Cotton Festival Parade as the point rider for my convoy each year, and probably illegally, block traffic at intersections until we got the trucks through. I haven't had it out for a long time, might see if I can dig it out for ANZAC Day.
Nice to see a rego number I have never seen the ARN range before so thanks for that. Do you have more frame/rego numbers?
Cheers Ken
