I have a 110 perentie genereal service and have taken it with me to New Zealand.   

The authorities are having difficulties in accepting that it is not modified (eg Izuzu engine, seat belt mountings etc).   Does anyone know what kind of official specification documentation exists regarding this?

As a start the Army Engineering Development Establishment published a project brochure listing the Isuzu engine in the specifications:

There are other pdf files on remlr.com for parts and maintenance reference, they are certainly official and detail every nut, bolt, conrod, and filter to do with the engine and driveline. There is no drawing or mention of any type or brand of engine in there other than the Isuzu.

I think the seatbelt anchorage will be in the drawings in the relevant canopy or ROPS parts section .

There is the original Army Data Summary and Technical Description documents, but I suppose that there is nothing in them to definatively say that the vehicle is a Land Rover Australia Factory design, Vs a summary of Modifications that have been made by the Australian Army.

Does the vehicle still have the Compliance plate? It will be noted on there that it states the vehicle model is "Military 4x4", That is, it's not a Land Rover OneTen or Defender with modifications, but a unique model in itself.

Not sure if this is any help to you but the Isuzu engine was a standard fitting for the later model Series 3 (optional V8 3.5l or Isuzu 3.9l diesel) then the County range with the 110, I have a October 1984 County 110 fitted with Isuzu diesel engine, anyway good luck cheers dennis

Contact LRA Aus tell them the problem they can sort it with a letter real quick they were doing certs of authenticity for a while for AFM customers

When you say "Authorities", do you mean NZTA, or one of the certifying mobs like VINZ or VTNZ? NZTA should not have any issues in recognizing the vehicle as Factory, as there are already several registered in NZ and we could probably give you a couple of rego plates to get them to look up in the system. If it's the local VINZ or equivalent, again there have been a few others done before, but mostly in the Nth Is or CHCH. I don't know of any yet that have gone through Dunedin or Invercargill.

I think you need to forcefully point to the compliance plate and show them it is a unique vehicle model that fully complied at date of manufacture to get them to come around. Have they made any mention of complying with emissions and ADR79?
