1CSR TAC Plates
« on: April 08, 2018, 04:43:11 PM »
My Carryall and No5 trailer were both attached to 1CSR. However, both carry different markings on their TAC plates. Can someone please tell me why. Cheers

The bottom tac is the same as on my 6x6 which came from 1CSR. The top one looks like a 1st Div plate to me but I could be wrong.

Hi boys,

The one with kangaroo and crossed swords is as stated the 1st Divison , the other stencil looks like a 1st Brigade stencil. Not sure why it's there ?

Cheers,

Mick

The vehicle was probably allocated to HQ 1 Bde.

CSR's have a close relationship to the Brigade HQ and it wouldn't surprise me if they held some of their vehicles on charge.

The old HQ Company of a Brigade HQ was absorbed by the CRSs at one point.

Cheers.

Sub units of 1 CSR are 104, 105 and HQ Squadrons. Sub units generally don't have there own tac sign.

So the Land Rover carries the stencil for 1st Division, and the '10' for 1st Brigade?

That's it,

The 1st Division is the formation made up from units within its 3 brigades. 1st Brigade (Darwin / Adelaide), 3rd Brigade (Townsville), and 6th Brigade (Brisbane).

Cheers,

Mick

The 1st Division is the formation made up from units within its 3 brigades. 1st Brigade (Darwin / Adelaide), 3rd Brigade (Townsville), and 6th Brigade (Brisbane).

Hi Mick
I think you made a typo 6 Brigade is based in Sydney it comes under Forces Command. It has units in Qld. I think you mean 7 Brigade which is based at Gallipoli Barracks at Enoggera in Brisbane. 7 Brigade comes under 1. Div.
Cheers
