Trying to find info on ARN 50-292
« on: March 30, 2018, 03:20:12 PM »
G’day all,
I’ve had my Perentie for about 4 months but really don’t know anything about it as far as it’s service in the army goes. I’d love to know any service history my Perentie may have, if anyone has any ideas on how I may be able to find out I’d be very greatful for any help.

ARN 50-292
Consensus No: 73010
Vin No: SALLDHAZIFF446114
FFR, winch, MC2
Manufactured 9/90
It was originally auctioned by AFM in Minto, NSW in August 2013.

I bought it here in Western Australia in November 2017, the previous owner had bought it in Queensland from the bloke who originally bought it from the auction. Photos of it in service would be fantastic but I don’t expect to be able to track any down, just to know where it served overseas - if at all would be really good.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
Cheers,
           Dave.

No, unfortunately that wasn't with the perentie when I got it. Would have been good if it had been, probably going to make it difficult to find out anything about the landy without it.

Are there any markings on the vehicle that might give an indication, it might be your best chance to get any idea without a log book.

The only thing I can see on it is underneath the rear diff is painted white so I wondered whether it had served with the UN somewhere and had been repainted camo once it had returned home to Australia but I'm guessing all this.

AFAIK diffs are painted white to reflect the convoy blackout light

Ahh, thanks for the help, I’m not what you’d call very good with computers! Ok, I’ll try to attach a couple of photos.
