Davids Shed
« on: September 25, 2012, 11:06:00 PM »
This is the inside of my 1968 S 2A. It is still in original paint and gal, suffers from cancer in door tops and firewall near hinges. Apart from that it is very sound. It is not Military but working on one and wife says it goes or no more LR's

Must say it looks like new inside.  Is the chassis and fire wall in the same condition?

Have had it since new. Doubt whether they painted behind where mudguard captive nuts are. Started to notice corrosion some time ago and all of a sudden it got worse. (Salty air environment.
Would like a reasonable price for it and to go to someone to look after it.

Hello Juddy
Picked up sad looking 109 GS from FFRMAN yesterday and have a set of seats in it which are i think S3 tan colour for patterns both the bases and covers. My son and myself discussed the covering on the LR's from our old Military Unit and we are sure ours were canvas. Will try and get the right green and maybe canvas.

Hi all
Have started on 113-990. brake drums took a bit of removing, but thanks to threaded hole with bolt inserte and the trusty snapon soft face hammer they were persuaded to come off. Wheel cylinder pistons siezed in but will try to salvage. If not salvagable i have full set of new wheel cylinders from S2A civvy. will check bore size. Brake shoes will have to be replaced and will select drums from collection and skim them. The chassis is knackered on RH front, will sand blast entire chassis to work out best way to attack it. Can't wait to get into it further.

Chassis damage

The work begins.
My new shed, civvy LR being stripped for bolts and a few parts in the front with Military LR's etc to the rear.
113-990 will get part of chassis from donor civvy chassis and military dumb irons will be upicked and grafted onto civvy part chassis rail. A jig will be setup for correct alignment.

Hi Mick
Not yet, but close.
Mattresses being stored on office roof for grand kids.
Good to get away from house for a few hours a day.
