workshop names
« on: December 18, 2017, 09:34:33 PM »
Could anyone tell me if names on workshop trucks is indicative of them going to Vietnam. My truck has the name Tawdry also I have the tool box off a truck by the name of Torino. Some may be the owner of a workshop with that name. Regards

I'm lead to believe that naming vehicles was more prevalent in certain units but does not mean they went to South Vietnam. Most photos you see of workshops with names is from the 1980s.

Thanks for the feed back Sir.  Regarding the names on workshop trucks I was told the name always started with T, such as mine "TAWDRY". The reason being, that the Vietcong couldn't pronounce the T in the word. It could be just a myth but interesting if it were true. Regards
