It might have had three TAC plates. One of my 101s did, or rather the tailgate of one of my 101s did.

Hi Shorty,

I reckon it may have been to a few different units over its service and the plate holders moved from in to out  on the wim of each unit.  Infantry / Armour who knows ?

The 3 TAC plate bizzo was usually kept to Arty units and some support company elements within a infantry battalion from memory.

Beginning to think this was in a rollover. Tub is damaged and bulkhead slightly pushed in on the same side. Hoping to get the original post army owners phone number soon so I can fill in 20plus years of its life.

Given how often and easily they did roll over , I'd be more surprised if it hadn't rolled whilst in service.

Anyway it add's to its rich fabric of its life.

You have some work cutout for you but where there is a will there is a way.  GOOD LUCK !

Pushed out the damage to the tub the other week " home mechanic" style with some timber and a high lift jack. Came out pretty good, not perfect but I'm happy.

Mick, Compliments of the season to you, I am just finishing 154-833 (No 5 Trailer) - incideltally I have machined up new stand bolts 1/2 UNF with turning handle and recess for pin split retainer.  (let me know if you need one? I owe you a debt or two)   I'd love to get a gunbuggy but I would be reticent to bid against you as you have been so helpful in so many ways, it would not seem right I guess.  However, .... .... if you weren't interested, then I would love the referral and I'd be even happy to share one with you.

The only current one I know of for sale is in sydney. It's restored. Owner was wanting in the area of $20k.
Ill keep my eye out though for others.
