Who made the rear axle straps? the standard ones dont fit...... was there a different part number akk one ton ones?

Howdy, because of the extended spring shackles the standard straps are too short, you can't get original canvas ones but there are some repo army ones pop up occasionally.

I madesome up by getting some canvas fire fighting hose, sliting it open then folding it over to the rigt width with about 3 layers, then cut to length and bolted on.

No that is a very good idea.

I used the old ones, they were ok, but I had some new ones that of course did not fit, the old ones look same as the new ones , other than different colure.
