Recently near Mildura Vic the following was located below high river water level, due to the drought, and recovered.  The frame is in remarkably good condition. Tyres reflect the age.     If anyone is interested, the platform is obtainable and I will happily pass on details to the owner so you can deal direct.  The unit was saved from the oxy torch and becoming a log splitter. (only by a few minutes!)

All information gratefully received - Hope the pictures work out....

Looks to me to be the base for the QF 3.7 inch

Zooming into that plate, I can make out "Vickers Armstrongs", "Equip MK II" "Pattern" "Rear Axle" "Reg No 4431"

Vickers Armstrongs seems to mostly have made tanks, but they also have a few anti-aircraft guns. Could this be a towable base for an anti-aircraft or anti-tank gun? The round ring in the centre sure looks like a swivel base.

Whatever it is, it's sure built solidly.

It's definately a 3.7 inch Anit Aircraft gun carriage (it says so on the data plate) and well worth saving...

I had a barrel for one given to me years ago but but the time I had arranged transport it had gone to scrap unfortunately.

It's too far away for me but I'm sure someone will want it and I hope it finds a good home.
