Well, it's all working again but we didn't find the cable junction.
Took out the washer reservoir, took out the aircleaner, took out the instrument panel, opened up the fuse compartment, opened the wireing behind the blackout switch, groped and searched and pulled at wires trying to follow the green with red. Kept checking with a test lamp, presto! or should I say Luco! The power was there! Put it all back together, checking as each piece was replaced but it kept working and is all back together.
The people who designed the wireing need to be replaced by designers with more modern knowledge. Ribbon cables, multi plug junction boxes, printed circuit instrument panel ,etc. There has been hardly any change since 1930. I've owned a few cars from that time and the only difference is: there were less wires then!
