This is my first post. Been following this site for a while in anticipation of eventually buying one of the No 5 trailers. Well, I picked mine up today from Grays and received the Service book with it.

Certainly makes for interesting reading but can someone please answer this ..... The book tells me that the trailer was made 7/3/64, but didn't enter service until 2/9/74! Would it really have been sitting around in storage for 10 years?

Lots seem to get a new book around then, mines the same (little later), maybe when they came back from Vietnam and put back into service with a new division etc?

Cheers

Looking at my new trailer which is the same, it has a note that there is information transcribed from an older document of a different number.  So I would say the logbooks had a change about that time.
