clutch plate bonded to fly wheel
« on: September 08, 2012, 11:40:38 PM »
what is the best way to free up a clutch plate that is bonded to the fly wheel. Hasn't been driven for 15 years so probably stuck on hard.

Thanks

Scott,

I don't know about the best way, but the way that worked for me about a year ago was the suggestion by Fen Tiger on this thread -

http://www.series2club.info/forum/index.php/topic,45034.0.html

It's brutal, but it worked when all the usual methods wouldn't !

Yep worked perfectly,

Put prop shaft back on,

started in first gear transfer in neutral

Foot hard on break

At idle pushed transfer into high range

Bit of a clunk and serge then it let go,

Drove away with big smile on face!

Thanks for your help

Another way to do it is to have somebody tow down the road (engine off)while you have the vehicle in 3rd with the clutch in,and it will free up useing the engine's compression
