The problem of the Defender/110 mirror arms are that they put the mirror below the base of the door top and weren't original on the Series III.  Its also difficult to get the genuine flat offset mount mirrors used on the Perentie these days, mostly they supply smaller convex Britpart or Britax types.

There were however mirror arms (Part Number MRC4583) that were used on later Series III and the Stage 1 V8/Isuzu. And like the Defender type are spring loaded which is a failing of the original Series III type.  Like the Defender ones, you also need the top door hinge drilled to accept the mirror.

He never said what type just Series.  The mirror fitted to the Perentie was also fitted to civi 110/Countys here, I believe it was specifically designed for the AU market, but not the series 3.  They are readily available, not sure who's told you there not.  And the Perentie mirrors are made in the uk by Britax, theres a alternate larger style Defender mirror now, and the mirrors used on the Tithonus/Wolf by Spafax have a larger mirror. You don't have to drill and thread the hinge, just buy a new hinge, there not very expensive.
