Window felts/rubbers
« on: February 02, 2017, 08:59:04 PM »
hi guys, can someone pls tell me where to get the sliding window felts or rubbers from. The rattling is driving me nuts. I searched and searched and can't find on the forum, so sorry for asking again.
Cheers

Mvr industrial in Sydney have the rubber the code is 350.360. Ok but not as good as the garrison outfitters kit. But a lot cheaper

I got 20cm of thin felt like carpet material from Spotlight as a temporary measure, I cut a strip to fit and it works perfect so l won't bother changing it. Cost about $1.00 and I have plenty spare for next time.  No wind noise and can't tell it apart from the original felt on the other door without a really close look and a heck of a lot cheaper.

KLR supply a rubber backed felt bailey channel that is a perfect fit. Did my doors last weekend and very pleased with the result. Cost is $75 for 5 metres, which is enough to do both doors.

Thank so much guys. I looked up the garrison outfitters kit and like the look of it. On eBay with a lot of postage...does anyone local stock it?

I like a cheap solution but if it also stops a bit of wind noise then the couple hundred bucks would be worth it

The KLR stuff looks identical to the Garrison outfitters product but considerably cheaper

Sorry to hear about your window rattling issue. I'm new to the forum and it looks like the original post was 6 years ago, so I thought I'd chime in with a possible solution. Have you heard of Snap Shades? They're window treatments that act as a sealant and barrier to block out sound and light. They're easy to install and you don't need professional help. They come in a variety of colors and styles, so you can pick one that goes with the decor of your home. They're a great way to keep the UV rays and make your car cozy and quiet. They are also pretty easy to install.
