Hi All,

A few of the boys reckon Blighty was the highlight of the trip and would like to do it again next year.

My brother in law said he'd be happy to give a tour of his property and show everyone around. So we will probably head up in the AM.

The publican really looked after us , the food was delicious, well priced , the beer was cold and the egg and bacon rolls were just what the doctor ordered the next morning.

The local mechanic who worked on Paul's truck for nearly 3 hours had to have his arm twisted to take money for his efforts . Where else do you get that type of hospitality?

Thank you everyone who made the road trip and being part of a really good night.

Cheers,

Mick

Hi Mick,
Thanks for coming up with such a great idea and organising the Blighty overnighter. The slight detour involved from Ballarat to Corowa was well worth it and gave the Workshop a good long run. The hospitality and friendly atmosphere at the pub was much appreciated and not many places would be happy for you to sling a hooch between the palm trees in the beer garden. The beer was cold and the pizza could have been from a Roman trattoria it was so good. Also what a great setting in the "Long Paddock" on the Mulwala riviera!
I'll certainly be putting my hand up the same time next year and would highly recommend it to other REMLR members.
Keep me in the loop regarding an alternative camp site to Ball Park as I also felt it was overrun with non-military blow-ins.
Let next year, the year of the Land Rover be an opportunity to upstage the GPW's at Corowa and head the parade in grand style.
Regards and thanks again,
Steelo

Good on you Rick, cheers.

Sorry Dennis , I can't upload anything as my computer won't upload from my phone. I'll get Boxy on it.

Cheers,

Mick

Blighty was excellent. Some convoy uhf fun. Paul's fanbelt.Dinner etc on the lawn. Breakfast too, after sleeping with squishies in. The overnight temp was so nice and a lot less humid -and less cramped- than beside the Murray.

PS, I wonder if the flag will need replacing next year? Probably.

Hi All,

The flag Carzee refers to was the Australian Flag he found flying at the old Rural Fire Service shed at Blighty.

The flag was ripped, faded, and degrading.

Good old Carzee without a thought opened up his Emergency Aussie Flag Box and a swap was made, this carried out by a small group of REMLR members and a few words from Carzee.

I think Mick Marsh took some photo's - over to you Mick.

Another civic duty carried out by  Carzee 😊👍

It looks like you all had fun at Blighty.  We may be up for a run if it happens next year.  We hope to be down in 1 of our 101's, I don't think my 2a will be ready by then  :(

Portrait view mode from the drone... looks dreamy.

One thing I did do while in a pub was to try that Great Northern. I liked it. Hard to explain. It was a beer flavoured softdrink, or homebrew sort of thing. Good for a hot day anyway.
