No 5 spare tyre mount
« on: January 15, 2017, 04:00:17 PM »
After using the trailer for a bit and having to leave the spare behind (took up too much room in the tub) and take a chance with repair plugs etc I decided to add a spare tyre mount.  Not finished yet but should work well, will also try and add a mount to it for the Maxtrax so I don't have to carry them in the trailer.

Cheers

Don't know if there is much interesting in modding the trailer but anyway, almost finished it now, added a cross brace that bolts to the ribs on the tub.  I've added the bolts for the wheel now just need to paint it and then weld to the draw bar.

Nice job there.
I see you thought of bracing. I reckon, had you not, it would have developed a hell of a weld breaking harmonic. Especially on corrugated dirt roads.

Thanks, with the brace it could probably all be bolt on but it's nice to have it welded to the draw bar.  Corrugations was my concern, no chance of harmonics building up in that short section.
