Yeahnah can't buy PUP paint, but Protec sell the black/brown/OD in enamel but the light tan from the LRPV or SFPV is not in stock, you can order some but they need to make a batch of 400lt at a time and you need to but the 400lt

hope that helps

Hi,

FYI , Eastern Auto Paints in Bayswater are PROTEC suppliers and mix PROTEC paints on site. They matched the paint colours on my LRPV - very happy with result.

Merry Christmas ,

Mick

I have the Enamel/Alkyd Disruptive Pattern Paint (DPP) for my truck and the full list of colour codes are listed below.

342-1166  Camouflage Green
342-5265  Camouflage Brown
342-7165  Camouflage Black
342-5239  Camouflage Pilbara Brown
342-5726  Camouflage Light Tan

I had guessed, as your Green, Brown & Black codes have the same end codes, that the Pilbara Brown in PUP would be 601-5239 and Light Tan would be 601-5726, but it looks like that's wrong.

Searching the paint codes I got:

601-1166 Camouflage Green US Fed 595 # 34088
601-5265 Camouflage Brown US Fed 595 # 30219
601-7165 Black US Fed 595 # 37038
601-8357 White (Interior) US Fed 595 # 37875
601-9074 Barthane Hardener (Part B)

So it's a 2-pack paint but seems to only come in those 4 colours.

Is the original paint on these rovers Enamel or Polyurethane 2-pack?

Oh, here's a link to the Tech Data Sheet.

Pilbara Brown is 601-5310 in PUP NIRR.

Light Tan is not available in PUP, Enamel only.

The Light Tan Enamel IS usually a stock item in the major branches in the Capital cities, but even if it is not in stock, a local supplier can always get 342 base in as little as 1lt and mix it to colour from the mixing database, and to exactly the same lustreless finish as the pre-mix 342-5726 paint.

If he goes all "Err... Umm... Dunno" on you, it's easiest to order direct through Protec's Customer Service Centre on 1800 076 466. They can look online to see the stock the local supplier is carrying and email through the tint instructions. If the local supplier doesn't have the 342 base in stock, the Service centre can have it tinted and sent out even before the local knows it's coming.

It's also possible to have tinted 342 paint flattened down to a dead flat, but it is not as durable as factory mixed 342 flattening as they use a different method in factory production.

Hello, I had a shipping container company attempt to source the green, to paint a whole container.
Protec refused to sell the paint. Said it was restricted to military suppliers only, etc.
Anyone had this? Hope there is a workaround....

Some people have had issues getting the cam green apparently to get the correct green you need a defence suppler no but others have just walked in and bought what they wanted. A guy at protek smeaton grange said they just supply semi gloss as it is same colour but not restricted . There are several other threads reguarding this
