On the front page of the REMLR webiste there is a Restoration Information tab, under this there is a Colour scheme tab.
It says
Camouflage Pilbara Brown - 342-5239

I went to Protec Welshpool yesterday they have Camouflage Green - 342-1166 & Camouflage Brown (Auscam Tan) - 342-5265 available in cans for about $14 sent from Eastern States, the Pilbara Brown they say they dont do in a can and the mix is gloss not lustreless as the other two are.  The guy who mixed it put in a mixer to dull it down for me but said it is not lustreless and wont match the sheen on the other two, I haven't tried it yet, and as it was mixed it was twice the price as pre-canned.  I noted on my RFSV the Pilbara brown has a slightly more gloss finish so maybe they did the same.  If buying not in a spraycan they can probably match the sheen on all 3.  (Just noticed you are in USA, Australian price and WA store wont help a lot)

Hi David,

There are a number of protect paint outlets that will match the colour without too much trouble. I'd checkout Protec to see if they can give details of a supplier near you.

I had 4 unusual colours I had to match on the LRPV and they did a great job.

Cheers ,

Mick

Hey David,

I'd get onto Protec, I have a 4ltr tin of the Pilbara Brown.  They had it in stock at the Protec supplier here in Melbourne.

I know it's not much help but it is available.

Cheers,

Mick

Thanks guys, I did actually find the info for the paint code in Federal Standard for each of the colors, i found it in that document, which means I can get it mixed locally, For Future Reference:

Camo Brown: Federal Standard 30219
Camo Black: Federal Standard 37038
(RFSV only) Piibara Red: Federal Standard 30109

It was all in the documents that I posted some time ago. You have to find the documents that relate to the painting vehicles and equipment and then read them, and amongst all the paint specifications you will find the colour standards which relate back to the federal standard. The tan and black are actually the same colours that are used on the Blackhawk and Kiowa fleet the tan was also used on the F111 and Iriqouis fleet as well. I hope now we can put this issue to bed now.

I probably wasn't clear.  Protec Perth (they only have one office but a few authorised dealers) sell all the camo paints in the right paint code, however they come with different sheens.  You can get the paints with exactly the same colour in several sheens including lustreless or gloss.
I wanted spray cans in the three colours with the Lustreless finish which has a 23 after the standard paint code (eg 342 1166 23).
Protec Perth had these for most camo colours but said they cant do the Pilbara Brown in Lustreless, only in a gloss with an agent added to dull the gloss down, and mixed it into a spraycan on the spot.  They said the sheen would be a close match to lustreless but not exact as they didnt have the lustreless paint mix recipe in Perth for this colour.

It is very likely Protec offices in other states  may be able to provide the Lustreless Pilbara Brown in a spraycan as the premixed spraycans are sent from the east but WA office said they couldn't.

Protec in Gillman SA is where all the ADF paint is manufactured and then sent out to distributors from there, if ever chasing difficult stuff maybe contact them first and then get it shipped to the local guy

Try the somerton store. They may be able to road freight them to you

Please note the Camouflage Pilbara Brown - 342-5239 shown in the "Australian Army Vehicle Colour Schemes and Paint" section does not match the Red on my Perentie.  I got some from Protec and the colour provided is very similar to the Camouflage Brown (Auscam Tan) - 342-5265.  Protec WA advised the paint code 342-5239 is incorrect for this colour.  Be careful if you intend to buy this paint using the code 342-5239.

I wondered about that, when trying to get the colour from protec I even mentioned it looks like a red oxide primer paint, how close is the match can you easily see they are different colours?  Do you know the make of primer?
