Nope best way is to cut out the extra length from the window then reposition the window correctly, new wear band will hide join from the cut and shunt.
Anyway that's how I'd do it with the little bit of manufacturing knowledge I have.
I'll absolutely defer to your opinion Scott.
I based my opinion on the cost of the cutting and shutting would be a significant part of the cost of a new made from scratch
