Hi Aussie Jeepster, I was looking through all the posts when I came across the photo of 49-657. I brought 49-657 in April 2018 from AFM Minto and it is still running strong. If you have any more pictures please post. Cheers Dan

I signed up today looking to learn a bit about these vehicles ,  maintenance, refurb etc.
I am in the process of purchasing  an 89 ffr with ARN 49659. Not sure how and when these vehicles were assigned their ARN"s but one would think the vehicle above and mine may have been around the traps together.

G'day Normal,
Just be aware when trying to register your Perentie that you may run into issues with it,
Your one is one of a few that I'm aware of that the VIN plate was stamped wrongly by Land Rover and never sorted out or fixed.

The VIN on the firewall/bulkhead plate does not match the chassis stamping.

The chassis stamping is the correct format and letters and numbers.

The VIN as stamped on the chassis should be: SALLDAHZ1FF386719 this is the correct VIN.

The VIN as stamped on the VIN plate on the firewall/Bulkhead is wrong and reads: SALLDHAZIFF386719.

It's only a small detail, but it might need to be sorted out by talking to Land Rover and sending them pics of the VIN numbers on the VIN plate and chassis.

I know of two other Perenties that have the same VIN number (letter) mistake on the compliance plate, both have been sorted out and registered under the correct VIN numbers along with letters from Land Rover stating the correct numbers.

Regards, Mike (Dopey).

Hi Normal,

I would say there is a high chance these these two knocked around together. I looked through my photos, but could not find any reference to ARN 49-659.I got log books with mine and found out it served with the 144 signal Squadron, 9th Brigade, 2nd Division Based at Keswick Barracks in Adelaide, South Australia. Good luck in buying ARN 49-659. Cheers Dan
