Since the start of the year I've made a lot of progress getting 110-436's restoration underway. Cleared a space in the shed and moved it in To begin work on striping it back to a bare chassis.
Work has been slowed down slightly by family duties and house renovations however any chance to spend half an hour in the shed has seen the only major items to remove being the front and rear axels.
Uncle Ho has visited a few times to cast his knowledgable eye over it and answer some of my questions on why things are the way they are, he seems to be impressed by its good overall condition.
The engine seems to be in good condition and spins freely with good compression so it's overhaul will hopefully be fairly straight forward.
The clutch is a little worse for wear, the the pin connecting the rod for the clutch slave cyl to the clutch fork was sheared and the torsional damper springs in the clutch plate are all broken. I'm thinking these may be the main reason the truck was relighted to the junk pile.
On scraping the gunge off the engine block it would appear that the whole thing apart from the rocker cover was painted Deep Bronze Green. Has anyone else found this? I thought it would have been duck egg blue.
I've also started a Facebook page on 110-436 for ****s and giggles if anyone is interested in my progress. I've done it mainly so I'll keep motivated on getting the job done.
