Bit of an update, picked the car up from klr today. Quite pleased with the help i got from brad. Gave me some info on things i need to check and keep eyes on.
I also had a good look at the log book. Its not the original log book. Starts from about 120,000 or so. Seems like it belonged to 27 sqn. All the servicing documented in the book shows it was done by 27 sqn. A quick google search indicates its from townsville.
I also noticed that in the log its written 1990 build and entered into service in 92, but the compliance plate shows 88. It also has a restamped manufacturer vin on the id plate on the seat box. Not sure what thats about.
I start the drive back to Melbourne tomorrow so I should get a good feel for it on the way

Why Brother because mine also came from 27 SQN.

I am also in Melbourne.

If you have anytime you may like to attend the museum at the airfield up in Townsville it is manned by ex RAAF people from the base. Great knowledge from them about the vehicles they had.

Yes not bad, just had to change the clutch slave but that was not to hard.

Try to take it out for a run each week just to keep everything ticking over. I don't mind a trip up the high country whenever possible.

Might see you around the traps. Enjoy

Nice! Mine is reasonable. Has new front diff and new gearbox. Needs a brake booster rebuild and needed some bushes and the steering box is really stiff. Other than that its great! I do most of my off-roading in the high country so we might cross paths some day
