I am fascinated by the 2,4,or 6 wheel drive comment.
Geoff.
Yes, me too.
Pretty sure the only way I could get 2 wheel drive would be to drop the rear-most drive shaft.
Apparently he bought it about a year ago and never got time to do anything with it. The previous owner was the one who dinged the passenger side roof and door when the boom got away from him. All fixable.
The biggest issue I have now is getting my MR license upgraded to HR. I can't use this truck as it has to be registered. I can't get it registered as I don't have a license to drive it around to all the places I need to get the work done to get it registered.
Most of the places doing the license tests can supply a truck for the test, but I have only ever driven little trucks with syncro gearboxes so I really need to do the 8hr course with test included. $900 or so. Ah well.
Its usual $250 for the test in your truck or $500 in their's. To do the course is $650 or $900 in their truck.
The silly thing is that down here, the only difference between MR and HR requirements is that you need HR if the truck has 3 axles. Same weight restrictions on MR & HR.
I also got the 3x Dunlop tires he had listed. That gives me 9 spares total, 7 of them at about 80% with the others good enough for spares.
The tread on the tires it's on now look good in pics, but might be too cracked to pass roadworthy. We'll just have to see.
It has the original tail light buckets and lenses in the cab. I know you can still get the lenses but the buckets are getting scarce. The seats all need reupholstering, but I've done that before.
The steel in the deck is really good, but some of the timber needs replacing. Any idea what species would be best? I'll use a good outdoor oil on it, but it will get rained on and baked in the sun. Jarrah would be nice and hard but may be hard to source. Its 5-9/16" by 13/16" and either 14' or 14'6" long. 12 all together, with 2 of those 12 cut into 5 sections each.
