Did they not have the red cross on some of them then?

Interesting point on the crosses, missing from the front in that photo, and would be obscured on the roof with equipment.  Sides it is hard to tell.

Hello AGAS 5 The 2nd photo we can conform it to be Myrtle (112 215) as the paint scheme correct it has a winch and the top bacon protector is the same too, all these unique features point  it to being Myrtle. Any ideas where it was taken. Judging by the top stretcher rack pole, I reckon in service as when I  got 112 215 they were missing.

Hi Greg, well done on getting an in-service photo. Many of us are still waiting....

I have no idea of the photo details. You could try getting on facebook and trawl through the 11 Field Ambulance group. See if the photo had a caption or ask the person who posted it.

Cheers,

Pete

I'm surprised it's a 11 Field Ambulance vehicle given its paint job is the ODF (3 Brigade ) cam pattern and 11 Field was a 6 Brigade unit.

Cheers,

Mick

I like to thak AGAS 5 for letting us know about facebook page, we have found one of the many drivers of myrtle. One blokes remember her well as it was his very first army vehicle he drove. So here is what he siad "WOW! Odds are that I have driven that one in the late 1970's and between Brisbane and Bourke-Cobar on Exercise Droughtmaster in 1980" so 2 in service photos (one in her greens and one in her camos) with a possiable third in here greens and a drivers name as well.
