Canvas waterproofing and soundproofing.
« on: April 11, 2016, 07:36:05 PM »
I caught up with Mick88 at Melrose this easter and discussions came around to my canopy, which Mick thought was nearly new.I bought my current one from FFR man which was secondhand(made 1988).I used a product called Dyna Proof, which is a solvent based canvas reproofing, that my local canvas guy suggested. Its an Australian product. It comes in 2@4 ltr cans and can be sprayed/painted on.I did the paint it on thing.Very Happy.Cost $40 for 2ltr and $80 for 4ltr(prices can differ).RE SOUNDPROOFING.I purchased some loom tape to tidy up the WKSP wiring and the company sent me some samples of their products.I wish I had known about this product before I sound proofed(?) the Perentie. If anyone is interested look up Car Builders(www.carbuilders.com.au).Im not associated with either product but hope this is of use to some one.Cheers Hallsy.

I'll throw in a second thumbs up for the Car Builders sound/heat insulation. Very similar to Dynamat and like Dynamat great care should be taken to ensure it is applied properly. If done so it will not only deaden sound and reduce heat but it will also form a protective barrier. Done incorrectly and you've just installed the perfect dirt and water trap.  :o
