If the frame is ok, just get one cut. They are just flat glass with the originals being laminated. I'd get toughened glass instead. Left and right sides are the same so you could pull the other one out for a template. I don't know how you would go with Department of Transport, whether they have to have any special certification, but mine aren't even toughened, although they are laminated but there's no certifying marks on either of them.
You may still need to find a specialist glass supplier as I don't think toughened glass can be cut like the regular house stuff.
From the RPS, you need some sort of rubber seal between the glass and the frame. The MK3 ones can get away with a piece of bike tube, but you could probably take a piece of yours in to somewhere like Rare Spares and they should have something close.
Interestingly, when I compared the MK4 and F1/F2 windscreens in the RPS files, they are shown as being slightly different sizes even though I thought the cabs were interchangeable. I'm not sure if this is correct or if it's something that changed while in service.
Mine is a MK3 so a bit different. It only has one rounded corner, whereas yours has 4. My passenger side is cracked right across and I will have to get one cut sometime in the future. I'll probably get 2 cut and replace both as the plastic that's sandwiched between the glass layers has yellowed a lot and it's hard to see through.

Greg.

FYI, highly illegal and very dangerous to run toughened glass windscreens! You only need pressure in the right place and it explodes with great force, all windscreens are to be laminated glass to be ADR compliant......

What are modern windscreens? I thought they were toughened as they shatter into tiny cubes?
The ones in my MK3 are laminated as the passenger side has a crack running right across that can be felt on the outside but not the inside, so it's 2 sheets with a layer in between. Maybe modern ones are toughened AND laminated?

There is a difference between front and side. front is laminated so it stops rocks etc penetrating and the glass stays intact if broken  and side is toughtened :)

Thanks everyone for your advice, I'll probably pull both and renew them at the same time

Toughened glass does conform to the relevant ADR.

I had mine redone with laminated. It's just flat sheet. Cost me $80.

Id go with laminated for sure, the old safety glass that shatters into small  pebbles, would fill your eyes with tiny fragments when hit with a stone,as well as filling the cab with sharp bits.Allways wear some type of glasses when driving, especially on the highway. You never know when some dipstick is going to chuck a brick from an overpass.Ive  just finished breaking up Mk3 windscreens, and they have two different thicknesses of glass on either side of the plastic.Quite fragile ,though, just need to stand on the glass and it falls out.Regards John.
