MUTT M151A2
« on: November 26, 2015, 05:36:13 PM »
I have just bought one of these and should have it home within the next two weeks: it is in Melbourne and I need to get it to Cairns. Best quote so far is about $1600.
point of the post, though, is to see if there are enough users/interest to justify a child board for MUTTs?

And while you are at it why don't we change the name of the organisation to The Registry of Ex Military Vehicles.

Garry

I second that. We have lost the plot somewhere along the way. I raised this issue some time ago when another person started posting non Land Rover and non Military Vehicle garbage, and was told by others that we accept anything here. I have always thought that a forum with the name of Registy of Ex Military Land Rovers should be about that and that only. Has any one questioned why all the old identities of the forum have disappeared, well I can answer why because I have spoken to quite a few of them and asked them why they don't come here any more and the answer I get is that the forum has lost the plot. So I will say to the committee let's change the name to make it more representative to what it is becoming.
Some ideas for a new name

The Military Vehicle Forum

The PERENTIE Forum

This is just some food for thought.

Guys, let's not get confused between the forum and the website and the incorporated entity.

I think a MUTT board on the forum is a good idea, if you don't like MUTTs don't read it, no different to Inters, MOGS, GWagens, Haflingers etc

on the other hand the website is predominantly for the collection and dissemination of information regarding ex military Land Rovers, yes this includes Perenties and and time goes on this is more and more important, feels  the same as when the series 3's came to auction in the late 80's early 90's

The series ex military land rover people are alive and well they just don't talk much on the forum - a self fulfilling prophesy perhaps!

anyway let's all keep discussing our military vehicles

regards
Scott

We all appreciate the comments and opinions. They help us to focus on keeping the forum, website and even the Wiki relevant.

There is work going on in the background with regards to the forum layout. It is early stages yet and there is no garuntee of change - that will be the decision of the Committee. But, if accepted, it will give an up front focus on Land Rovers and vehicle restoration. It will still cater for other makes however, because as Geoff said, many forum members own more than just Land Rovers - and good on them too :)

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Scott and Pete
Thanks for your replies. I haven't become confused I wanted to just make a point that  the name of the forum isn't relevant to what the forum has become. You can't dispute that the forum is attached to the REMLR site and through that attachment one would imply that the forum would cater for a similar type of subject matter in the types of discussion subjects. If you go to the Holden forum they discuss Holdens not Fords or any other make the subject matter is kept relevant to what the forum is about.

I look forward to the changes if they occur which I hope they do because change is good and should be embraced in any part of life.
Cheers
