Hello everyone,
I've had to make a name change from Red Rocket.
My daughter originally registered this name for herself and at that time she had a red 1986, Isuzu County.
That vehicle is gone now. I was using her registration as she didn't use it and it was there.

Now, as I post this, I am in transit, in Europe. I have forgotton the password for Red Rocket and the email address that was associated with it has been terminated. Rather than try to unravel things to keep the name, I decided to register a new one.
One that related to me.

So, for canopies you can call me what you like just so long as you get the email address right.
Right now, I expect to be back at the sewing machine at the end of this month. There's a few people on the canopy waiting list already so, if you are thinking you might want one later, let me know now.

Because I go off wandering in other places and other countries for months at a time, I am going to make extra canopies(if I get time ) for those people who want them while I am away.

Also, to keep me busy, I am writing about my life experiences operating safaris and expeditions over the last 45 years using Land-Rovers and MK3 Acco's.
I hope to have the first book, covering the late 60's and 70's,  out later this year.

Regards to you all, Restless Rover, Red Rocket. Allen@wilderness-agencies.com.au

PS. One of my buses (1964 Mk3, modified) is now a resident of the National Road Transport Hall Of Fame in Alice Springs and will be a feature of a new display on Passenger Transport. This vehicle has travelled all the tracks you could ever wish to travel in Australia, many times.. Check it out if you visit Alice Springs.

Now that 2016 has passed, I am willing to take orders for canopies for land Rovers, trailers, and internationals. I can make all the land Rover ones but, because other makers can supply the Perentie canopies I will be giving preference to owners of the series, ex military models. This doesn't mean that I wont make Perentie canopies, just that I want to help the series owners who can't( to the best of my knowledge) get an original spec canopy anywhere else.

The green canvas that pre 1980 canopies were made from is no longer manufactured. It was 6 ft wide and the canopy was designed to suit that width. The heavier weight brother of that canvas is still made to the Army specs and this is what I use for all green, army canopies. Your new canopy should last longer and will flap less.
Some of the canopies I have seen for sale are not Australian Army but British. Especially on early SWB. All land-Rovers had the Australian canopy by replacement by 1973 unless they had been stored somewhere.

If there is no-one waiting for a military canopy, I will make other Land-Rover canopies if you are in need but my focus is on military canopies.

For what it's worth Tony,

Bite the bullet and get a new military spec canopy made. You'll regret it otherwise and it will distract from the work your putting into the resto. Given your getting all your detail right don't  take a short cut with the canopy.

Just my two cents 😳

Hi,

Would the tent wall sections of the workshop canopy be something you make?
