Trailer warning lamp
« on: October 27, 2015, 08:04:29 AM »
Hi all, I was wondering why the trailer warning lamp always flashes with the indicators? I have been told that it shouldn't unless I have a trailer fitted (or extra globes on bullbar etc), which I don't. I have not changed the lighting at all from factory but if it is not working correctly, I'd like to fix it. Should I start by reducing the load on the circuit by fitting LED's in the rear?? Does the trailer light detect by resistance/load therefore reducing load will fix it?

Scary,
I converted my rear lights to LED and the flasher unit to an adjustable unit at the same time.
When I first tried the indicators my trailer light flashed in time with the indicators but once I adjusted the relay to stopped.
You could try replacing the flasher relay to see if it makes a difference.
Not sure how or if that relates to your issue but just my experience.
Regards,
Phil
