Canberra campfire #5
« on: October 06, 2015, 10:03:33 PM »
Time for another Canberra campfire run?

Grand finals are outta the way. I have checked my calendar - Oct 18th -Sunday- is open for a lunchtime Canberra campfire. Perhaps the Sunday as well.

Date: Can anyone else make Oct 17th?
Place: Back to Bullen? Mt Ginini? Kowen Forest?

Rollcall:

Adam with his newly registered GS?
Wayne Y
Stephen?
Greg?
Johnny?
Ross Y

Anyone else too  :) ...there is a RFSV somewhere around here and a few other GS too. And the Wagon.

Everyone's out and about. How all goes well for you, take some pics for us.
The local LROC are on an overnight into the Bendethera caves that weekend..
Hmmm.

Looks like a Canberra coffee instead at my place.

--update
On the day Wayne arrived with his turbo GS wearing a set of new Hankook M/T on Kings 7.00 rims from Jax tyres, a new return-to-center damper, rear bags inside the coils and info about Detroit Diffs and HD axles.

I talked about the experiences of the day before: I loaded the trailer and FFR with a full kit of gear to simulate a trek with 200L of diesel in jerrys, 4 spare tyres etc etc and took it for a 30km highway and urban drive to experience the change in braking etc.

Results?       Well the FFR will need some new rear brake shoes I think. The engine temp rose to about 100 going up a long hill at 90-80-70 with 3rd gear. Later I checked the little tank and it was dry. Looks like a reverse flush would be a good idea.

I also showed my 'Ripped Off by xxxxx' stuff too.

Anyway, lots of chat, plans for the following weekend, and a good lunch.
