Series III 2.6 exhaust manifold
« on: October 13, 2015, 03:43:24 PM »
I recently replaced the head gasket on my FFR but noticed the exhaust manifold had several minor cracks in it, after refitting and running the engine, as it cooled down, it cracked into two pieces :( So I'm now in the market for another.

Can anyone help out with one they don't want please? Preferably without cracks!

cheers, Daryl

The s111 had a problem with cast exhaust manifold they break easily I got a 2nd hand 1 from Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale NSW tried to get some one to weld it but that was useless :)

Before you fit it run a straight edge along the machined faces to make sure that they are all in line. That is what appears to have caused one to crack on me. I have had one machined by an engine reconditioner.
They can be successfully welded but only by a really competent welder.

Should be, it's still on the engine.  only reason its spare the 6 became a 5 so had to swap out.
(hopefully i don't give it away to find my exhaust issue is more than a dead gasket ;)  )
